  • Development guide

Leader: CARTIF

Participants: NEC, UCC, HON

DueOctober 30, 2013 (Month 18)

Work Package: WP3 - Middleware platform

SummaryThe BaaS system is a complex system composed of several entities interworking together in order to offer comprehensive and integrated energy management services. In this document, the technologies and methodologies for the development of the platform are specified, forming the basis for the implementation of the BaaS system. Moreover, the installation of the system should follow the guidelines specified in the deliverable so as to be able to replicate the deployment in other environments, e.g. if an Energy Service Company would like to deploy the system to additional buildings as well. Moreover, as each building is unique in terms of the BMS, the available ICT systems, or other parameters, this development guide includes guidelines for the flexible adaptation of the BaaS system to different BMS protocols, DWH vendors or external data services.

  • Simulation and modelling tools available for the model Software

Leader: Fraunhofer

Participants: CARTIF, TUC, HON

Due: January 13, 2014 (Month 21)

Work Package: WP4 - Building Energy Modelling and Simulation for Performance Estimation and Control

SummaryThe aim of this deliverable is to define a landscape and requirements from modelling services. It sets the foundation for supportive APO services which are consumed by other APO services delivering insights to BaaS users.

  • Model simplification for control and monitoring

Leader: HON

Participants: CARTIF, TUC, Fraunhofer

Due: March 6, 2015 (Month 34)

Work Package: WP4 - Building Energy Modelling and Simulation for Performance Estimation and Control

Summary: This deliverable addresses the simplification of building models in order to provide faster simulations with sufficient accuracy. The simplified models can be created either in (i) deductive way where the models are simplified in terms of available expert knowledge, or (ii) inductive way where the models are created by learning from the simulated data. Both approaches have been compared to the full-scale simulation models and their accuracy as well as speed has been verified. It is also discussed how the considered models are implemented and integrated within the BaaS platform.

  • Identification and definition of BaaS demonstration buildings

Leader: CARTIF

Participants: Dalkia, Fraunhofer, TUC

Due: April 30, 2013 (Month 12)

Work Package: WP6 - Demonstration of the BaaS system

SummaryThis document selects and describes the Demonstration Buildings in which BaaS System will be implemented and validated. The five selected buildings cover three different typologies: offices, hotel and educational building. The description of each of these buildings is included as one appendix at the end of this document.

  • Baseline period in pilot buildings

Leader: Dalkia

Participants: CARTIF, Fraunhofer

Due: February 9, 2016 (Month 46)

Work Package: WP6 - Demonstration of the BaaS system

Summary: This document contains the study and definition of the baseline period for the three pilot buildings and the analysis of the gathered data aimed to develop accurate and applicable mathematical models to explain the energy consumption with some independent variables such as the outdoor temperature and the solar radiation. Once these energy models are adjusted and validated with real data, they will be used to assess the energy savings achieved with the ECM associated to the deployment of BaaS solution, following the guidelines defined in the IPMVP.
